These aren’t just pens—they’re relics of American automotive artistry, turned by hand into writing instruments that echo the roar of factory floors and the gleam of freshly painted chrome.

So… what is Fordite, exactly?

Once upon a time in the heart of America’s auto factories, layers of vibrant enamel overspray built up on painting bays and car frame skids. After being baked—sometimes over a hundred times—these colorful layers hardened into something unexpected: psychedelic swirls of cured enamel, tough enough to polish, and beautiful enough to rival natural gemstones. A byproduct turned treasure.

But here’s the catch: they don’t make Fordite anymore. Modern painting processes are too clean and too efficient. That means no more overspray. No more paint build-up. The "mines" have run dry, and what’s left of this accidental art form is all there ever will be.

Each pen in the Gelsey Fordite Collection captures a slice of this history—layered, cured, polished, and reimagined for the hand of a modern writer. No two are the same, and once they're gone... they’re gone.
